For Amalgama’s closing concert of the season, join us at Areté for a fun evening of chamber music. The program will feature a mix of fully notated music, free improvisation, and structured improvisation.
We’ll play Donnacha Dennehy’s “bulb,” a mesmerizing piano trio coupling just intonation with propulsive intensity, and Quinn Collins’s “The Land We Stand On Is Ours,” an energetic duo for cello and percussion with electronics. We’ll also perform a structured improvisation for five players prepared by Michal Massoud, as well as free improv.
And, to seal the deal, there will be wine and beer!
